France Alumni Meeting - Mozambique

But what exactly is an alumni?

The term "alumni" comes from the Latin "alumnus", meaning "pupil". For France Alumni, it refers to a former student who has graduated from a French higher education establishment, be it a university, a grande école or a specialized institution, whether or not on scholarship.
Any student who has graduated from a French higher education institution is, by definition, an alumni.

A look back at the meeting

The informal meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the members who have recently joined this network of former students in France, as well as the new scientific and university cooperation attaché and the volunteer responsible for training and employability issues.

It also provided an opportunity to review the activities carried out this year, in partnership with the French Embassy in Mozambique, including a look back at the #FranceAlumniDay event and the exhibition "Estudei em França: 30 Alumni de Talento".

The meeting also served to present, design and envisage the activities, opportunities and initiatives that are and will be carried out throughout this year.

Various projects were discussed: scholarship opportunities for further study, updating the Campus France and France Alumni Mozambique websites, upcoming workshops and partnerships on employability, and the Alumni Conference.

This project is supported and funded by the French Embassy. This grant is dedicated to the projects of the Alumni France Mozambique community. The conference will focus on the circular economy and innovation to protect the oceans.

Due to the relevance of its theme, the conference will be integrated into the MAR NOSSO event and will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
